The Narrow Door

Scripture Reading

Luke 13:23-24

Someone asked him, "Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?" He said to them, "Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to."
Reflection
Jesus does not answer the theoretical question with a census but with a personal command: make every effort. The question about others' fate is deflected back into a question about one's own urgency. The narrow door is not a cruel obstacle but a precise entrance — there is a particular way in, and casual drift will not find it. Intentional faith, persistent seeking, daily return to the door that is Christ himself: this is the narrow way.
Prayer for Today
Dear Lord, may your countenance shine on my boyfriend. Make the labor of his hands fruitful. I request that you give him agility and excellence. May he never suffer nor miss the fruits of his labor.

Amen.
