And Jesus said to them, "Follow me, and I will make you become fishers of men."
Reflection
The disciples were working — casting nets, mending gear — when Jesus interrupted their ordinary day with an extraordinary invitation. God often speaks not in the sacred hours we have set aside for him, but in the middle of our work. The question is not whether God will show up, but whether we will be paying enough attention to notice.
Prayer for Today
God, please enlighten my mind with truth, inflame my heart with love, inspire my will with courage, enrich my life with service. Pardon what I have been, sanctify what I am, and order what I shall be. Amen
