For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.
Reflection
Paul's logic is circular in the best way: we were freed for freedom. The danger is that once free, we re-impose old burdens — legalism, performance, fear — and call it faithfulness. Standing firm in freedom is its own kind of discipline; it means resisting the pull back to the familiar weight of earning what was given.
Prayer for Today
Our dear Heavenly Father,
we thank thee for this food.
Feed our souls on the bread of life
and help us to do our part in kind words and loving deeds.
