Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
Reflection
Compelled generosity is not generosity at all — it is compliance. God is after the heart behind the gift, not merely the gift. When giving flows from a glad and free heart, it becomes participation in God's own character, who gives without reluctance and without measure. Ask him today to make you the kind of giver whose joy in giving is evident.
Prayer for Today
Father, right now I ask You to forgive me completely. Yes, every thought and action I have taken that has fallen short of what You expected of me, I place before Your feet. Please forgive me.
Help me to renew my mind by Your Word and with the help of Your Spirit. Help me to walk right before You and to form new righteous character traits.
