Gifts for the Common Good

Scripture Reading

1 Corinthians 12:7

To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.
Reflection
Every gift the Spirit gives — whether prophecy, healing, teaching, administration, or hospitality — is given not for the personal benefit of the recipient but for the common good of the whole body. We are not spiritual consumers collecting gifts for our own enrichment but members of a body, each part contributing what it has for the health and functioning of the whole. What gift has the Spirit given you? Are you using it for yourself alone, or pouring it out for the common good?
Prayer for Today
Eternal God, You told Jeremiah not to find fault in his age, you told him to not say I am only a youth' because everywhere You sent him, he will go, and whatever You command him, he shall speak. Lord I pray that the youth in every church do not feel
inferior due their age, instead please strengthen them so that they can go wherever You send them to spread Your message as missionaries for Your Kingdom; this is the prayer of our hearts, Amen.

Amen.
