Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.
Reflection
Peacemakers are not simply those who avoid conflict — they are the ones who actively enter broken situations and work toward wholeness. Jesus calls this work divine: the peacemakers are called sons of God, participants in God's own reconciling mission. This is costly, difficult work that requires the courage of the resurrection behind it. Where in your home, your workplace, your community are you being called to make peace rather than simply keep the peace?
Prayer for Today
Lord, holy Father,
look kindly on your children,
redeemed by your Son
and born to a new life by water and the Holy Spirit.
Grant that those who are sprinkled with this water
may be renewed in body and spirit
and may make a pure offering of their service to you.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
