Scripture Reading

Isaiah 43:1-2

But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you."
Reflection
As Holy Week approaches, these words from Isaiah carry special weight. Jesus is about to walk through waters and fire on our behalf, and the promise holds: he is not overwhelmed, he is not consumed. And because he passed through it all for us, the same promise extends to every child of God who bears his name. You are his. Whatever you are walking through, he is with you.
Prayer for Today
Lord God, protect us and all our loved ones from this earthquake as it happens. We fear for the lives of everyone and seek your protection. Amen.

Amen.
