Colossians 2:6-7
So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
Reflection
Waiting is not passive — it can be the season of deepening roots. A tree does much of its most vital growing underground, out of sight, in winter. Advent invites us to sink our roots deeper into Christ so that when spring comes — when his kingdom breaks through fully — we have the stability and the nourishment to bear much fruit.
Prayer for Today
Father, all-powerful God, your eternal Word took flesh on our earth when the Virgin Mary placed her life at the service of your plan. Lift our minds in watchful hope to hear the voice which announces his glory and open our minds to receive the Spirit who prepares us for his coming. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
