O Key of David

Scripture Reading

Isaiah 22:22

I will place on his shoulder the key to the house of David; what he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.
Reflection
"O Key of David, come and open the prison of the enslaved." In the ancient world, the key-bearer held authority to grant or deny access. Christ carries the key to every door we need opened — the door of forgiveness, the door of new possibility, the door to the Father. No lock that binds you is stronger than the authority of the One who carries that key. Ask him to open what only he can open.
Prayer for Today
O Lord, I beseech you to deliver me, and all of your children, from the fear of the unknown future; from fear of failure; from fear of poverty; from fear of bereavement; from fear of loneliness; from fear of sickness and pain; from fear of age; from fear of death. Help us, O Father, by your grace to love and fear only you, and fill our hearts with cheerful courage and loving trust in you; through our Lord and Master Jesus Christ.
Amen.

Amen.
