Mark 12:43-44
Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, "Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything — all she had to live on."
Reflection
Jesus measures giving not by the amount but by the cost to the giver. The wealthy gave abundantly from their surplus; the widow gave everything. What the disciples saw as an insignificant contribution, Jesus saw as the most remarkable act of faith in the temple that day. God does not weigh our gifts against others' gifts; he weighs them against our own capacity and willingness. Give today from the deep place.
Prayer for Today
Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins, I renounce Satan and all his works, And I give you my life. I accept you whom I've just received in communion. I now receive and accept you as my personal Lord and my personal Savior, and as we just prayed, fill us with Your Holy Spirit. Amen.
