Scripture Reading
Ephesians 6:13-14
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place.
Reflection
Paul's armor imagery reminds us that the spiritual life is not passive but requires deliberate preparation. Truth and righteousness are not merely virtues to admire but weapons to wield in the daily struggle against what is false and corrosive. The goal, however, is not aggression but steadiness: to stand when the pressures of the day threaten to knock us down. Put on the armor before the day begins.
Prayer for Today
Almighty God, please teach me how to love and fear you always. Let me apply your fear to whatever I do so that I can prosper. Assist me to overcome temptations, and energize me to do works of righteousness, so that I can enjoy your benefits throughout
the days of my life. For in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.
Amen.
