For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
Reflection
You are not an accident or an afterthought — you are God's workmanship, the Greek word for which (poiema) gives us our word 'poem.' God has written you with intention, and he has prepared specific good works for you to walk in. You do not need to strain to invent a purpose; you need to be attentive to the path he has already prepared. The works are ready — the question is whether we will notice them and walk in them.
Prayer for Today
Father, we pray today in Jesus' name that You would send forth Your light and Your truth, let them guide us, let them bring us to Your holy mountain to the place where You dwell. Then we will go to the altar of God, to God our joy and our delight.
