Scripture Reading

Isaiah 53:4-5

Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.
Reflection
Written seven centuries before the crucifixion, Isaiah's portrait of the Suffering Servant anticipates with startling precision the shape of Jesus' self-giving love. Our pain was carried, not merely acknowledged; our guilt was borne, not merely sympathized with. The peace we enjoy and the healing we seek were purchased at great cost. Let the depth of that sacrifice move you to a fresh gratitude today.
Prayer for Today
Dear God I ask for peace of mind. I pray that I am calm, collected and tranquil at all times today. I rest and relax in your presence. I let go of all anxious thoughts. I stop rushing and start praying. I let go and I let God.

In Jesus Christ's name, Amen.

Amen.
