Scripture Reading

Luke 15:22-24

"But the father said to his servants, 'Bring quickly the best robe, and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet. And bring the fattened calf and kill it, and let us eat and celebrate. For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.' And they began to celebrate."
Reflection
The father in the parable does not wait for the son's prepared speech to be finished before he starts celebrating. The robe, the ring, and the feast are not rewards for a successful apology; they are expressions of a love that was never revoked. Lent invites us to make the journey home, trusting that the Father is already running toward us.
Prayer for Today
Lord, I know that I am a sinner. Please forgive me for [insert specific incident or issue], and please guide me to become more like You. Please help me to watch my words and actions, and guard me against future mistakes and errors. Thank you for sending your son, Jesus, to die for my sins and thank you for your forgiveness. In the name of Your son Jesus, I pray, amen.

Amen.
