Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!
Reflection
This prayer is an act of radical openness — inviting God to look where we would rather not look ourselves. The psalmist does not ask God to confirm that everything is fine; he asks God to find what is wrong and show him the way forward. Lent is exactly this kind of season: not a condemnation but a careful and loving examination under the light of God's grace.
Prayer for Today
Lord, please heal my broken heart. Fill me with the peace and joy I know can only come from You during this hard time. Walk closely beside me during my journey to healing and recovery that I know is possible through Your power alone. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
