Scripture Reading
Isaiah 53:4-5
Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.
Reflection
Isaiah wrote these words six centuries before the cross, yet they read like an eyewitness account. The servant takes on what we generated — grief, sorrow, transgression — and in the exchange, peace and healing flow back to us. As Palm Sunday approaches, let these words be a lens through which to watch Jesus enter Jerusalem: this is the one who knew what was coming and came anyway.
Prayer for Today
In the name and authority of Jesus Christ, I pray over Christopher Theo Hoedemans and I break the power of autism that made him developmentally disabled to be redeemed and restored to normal function now. Let there be an acceleration of recovery that
blesses him with the ability to speak.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
blesses him with the ability to speak.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
Amen.
