Light for the Nations

Scripture Reading

Isaiah 49:6

"It is too light a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to bring back the preserved of Israel; I will make you as a light for the nations, that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth."
Reflection
God's ambition for his Servant is bigger than national restoration — it extends to the ends of the earth. What looks too large from a human vantage is merely the beginning of what God intends. As we walk through Lent, we are walking toward an Easter that changed not just one people but all of creation. Our small acts of faithfulness participate in that vast purpose.
Prayer for Today
Lord, we know that you call each of us out.

Out from ourselves into a world that is longing for your grace, love and truth.

In our community, are people who need to experience your grace.

In our nation, are people who need to experience your love.

In our world, are people who need to experience your truth.

We are your people Lord and you have called each of us out,

To be the visible You in this world

As you work in the hearts and lives of all people and nations.

Bless us Lord as we go,

As we go into our community, our nation and world.

Let us not ignore your call, but rather plant it deep into our being.

Amen

Amen.
