Scripture Reading
Exodus 15:2
"The Lord is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father's God, and I will exalt him."
Reflection
Moses sang this after Israel crossed the sea on dry ground. The past tense is important: "he has become my salvation." The song erupted from lived experience, not theological proposition. As we accumulate our own history of God's faithfulness — the times he carried us through waters we could not cross alone — we build a repertoire of praise that sustains us when the next sea appears.
Prayer for Today
Dear Father,
I treasure my wonderful friends so much. Thank you for their presence in my life. I ask that you would watch over them and lead them into hope and blessing. I trust that you will protect and hold them when life is hard. Lord, help me to be a good friend to them.
Amen.
