Scripture Reading
Micah 4:3-4
He shall judge between many peoples, and shall decide for strong nations far away; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore. But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree, and no one shall make them afraid, for the mouth of the LORD of hosts has spoken.
Reflection
On Independence Day, we celebrate freedom while holding before us the vision of what freedom is for. The prophetic vision is not merely national sovereignty but a world where swords become tools for cultivation, where fear is abolished, and where every person rests in security and dignity. No nation has fully achieved this — but every nation can be drawn toward it. Pray for your country with both gratitude and longing.
Prayer for Today
Lord God,
Thank you for this opportunity to learn new skills and stretch my understanding.
Thank you for guiding me through this time of study into the final exams.
I lay before you all the hopes and fears I have about the outcome.
May you place a peace within me now as I rest and await the results.
Thank you that I am safely held in your love.
Thank you that whatever happens in the future I will live in your goodness and walk with you always.
