The Humble Will Be Lifted

Scripture Reading

Isaiah 57:15

For thus says the One who is high and lifted up, who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: "I dwell in the high and holy place, and also with him who is of a contrite and lowly spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly, and to revive the heart of the contrite."
Reflection
The God who inhabits eternity chooses two dwelling places: the high and holy, and the contrite and lowly. Humility does not push God away — it is the very address he seeks out. The great consolation for those who feel small, broken, or low is this: that is precisely where the Lord comes to dwell and revive. He inhabits our contrition.
Prayer for Today
Holy Spirit, our Comforter, and our Friend, as we stand on Your Word, we ask that You rain down on us. Let Your power fall on us and change our hearts. Open heaven wide and pour out the rain of Your Holy Spirit over our church and our lives. Change us, renew us, empower us. We need Your touch again. Precious gift from heaven, send us Your cleansing rain. Amen.

Amen.
