Scripture Reading

Proverbs 11:24-25

One gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want. Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.
Reflection
The economy of generosity runs counter to the logic of scarcity. The one who gives freely finds abundance; the one who hoards finds only want. God has built this principle into the fabric of reality — those who bless others are blessed, those who water others are themselves watered. Generosity is never a loss.
Prayer for Today
O God our times are in your hand; Look with favor we pray, on your servant _____, as he/she begins another year. Grant that he/she may grow in wisdom and grace, and strengthen his/her trust in your goodness all the days of his/her life; through Jesus
Christ our Lord. Amen.

Amen.
