Scripture Reading

Psalm 62:5-6

For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken.
Reflection
The soul can be its own loudest voice of alarm. "Wait in silence," David says — not to the crowd, but to himself. The discipline of stilling our own inner noise is a kind of spiritual practice. When we quiet the anxious chatter and wait on God alone, we find the rock that does not shift beneath us and the fortress that holds when everything else shakes.
Prayer for Today
O God, I cry to You for help when my heart is overwhelmed. Lead me to the towering rock of security from my hopelessness. You are my safe refuge, a fortress where trouble cannot touch me. May I rest under the shadow of Your wings, under Your protection.
May Your unfailing love and unending faithfulness watch over me. I will sing praises to Your Name forever. Amen.

Amen.
