Scripture Reading
Ephesians 4:3-4
Eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit — just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call.
Reflection
Unity among believers is not something we create — it is something the Spirit has already established that we are called to maintain and protect. The 'bond of peace' is not a fragile thing but the strong cord of the Spirit's own work. In a world — and often a church — so prone to division and faction, the call to maintain unity is counter-cultural and demanding. What role are you playing in the unity or disunity of your community? Where might you be called to be a bond of peace?
Prayer for Today
Father, thank you for the opportunity to work. Thank you for providing a way for bills to be paid and for food to be on the table. God, as I work today, help me to remember I work for you. Help me to prioritize my tasks. Partner with me as I field phone
calls, solve problems, and collaborate with co-workers. Create in me a heart that works with honesty, patience, and integrity. Let people see you when they see me at work. In Jesus' name, Amen.
