Let Justice Roll Down

Scripture Reading

Amos 5:24

But let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.
Reflection
The prophet Amos was not impressed by religious ritual that left injustice untouched. God's Easter people are people of justice — those in whom the resurrection has produced a passion for the world to be set right. The image is a river, not a trickle: abundant, powerful, unstoppable justice flowing through communities and institutions. Where is the justice-stream in your life? Is it a trickle or a river, and what is damming it up?
Prayer for Today
Precious God, I thank You because Your Spirit is upon this church. Father, You have anointed and commissioned us to bring the good news to the humble and afflicted! You have sent me to bind up the wounds of the broken-hearted, to proclaim release to the
captives and freedom to prisoners. Father in heaven, let Your Spirit remain in this house and amongst Your people so that we can touch the hearts of men; this is our prayer, Amen.

Amen.
