Scripture Reading

Matthew 6:33-34

"But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."
Reflection
The antidote to anxiety, according to Jesus, is not positive thinking or stoic discipline — it is reordering our priorities around the kingdom of God. When eternal things come first, the temporal anxieties find their proper proportion. Lent is a deliberate recalibration of that order, releasing our grip on the future and trusting the Father who provides.
Prayer for Today
God,

I don't know why I don't trust You more. I get upset at myself for my lack of trust. I wish I was stronger and deeply rooted, but I am not. God, help me to accept this is where I am today. Help me to know that if I keep seeking You the trust will richly develop. Help me feel no shame, but instead stand with You just as I am, not as I should be. I can only become better through You. So this is my confession Lord, I need You. Come, Lord Jesus, come. Amen.

Amen.
