Saint of the Day
St. Patrick

St. Patrick (c. 385-461) was born in Roman Britain and as a teenager was captured by Irish raiders and enslaved for six years in Ireland, during which time he deepened his faith through prayer. After escaping and returning home, he felt called to return to Ireland as a missionary bishop. His mission transformed the island's culture and established one of the most vibrant Christian communities of the early medieval world. His two surviving writings — the Confession and the Letter to Coroticus — reveal a humble man of deep prayer and fierce pastoral commitment. He is the patron saint of Ireland.

Scripture Reading

Romans 8:38-39

For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Reflection
St. Patrick's famous prayer — the Lorica or "Breastplate" — is a full-body declaration that Christ surrounds, protects, and fills every dimension of existence. Paul's words to the Romans carry the same sweep: nothing in all creation can sever us from God's love. Patrick brought this gospel to Ireland with extraordinary boldness. May we carry it with the same courage wherever God has placed us.
Prayer for Today
Oh Lord,

I pray for your blessing on this home. Some problems have risen that I did not see coming and I fear how much money I may have to put into repairing these issues. I know I can fix the minor issues, but the heater is out. Father, I pray that this issue is really an easy, small problem and that I won't have to purchase a new unit to keep the house warm. Father, give me peace to know that Your blessing is still here even in the midst of uncertainty.

Amen
