Scripture Reading
John 1:1-3, 14
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. ... The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Reflection
John's prologue is the universe's hinge. The Word who spoke light into existence now cries in a manger; the one through whom all things were made is wrapped in swaddling clothes. This is not mythology or metaphor — it is the most audacious claim in human history, and Christians stake everything on it. Today we celebrate not an idea but a Person: God, here, with us, full of grace and truth.

Amen.
