Scripture Reading

Colossians 3:12

Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
Reflection
Paul presents virtues not as achievements to be earned but as garments to be put on — daily, deliberately, as an act of identity. We dress ourselves in the morning; we can dress our souls as well. Compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience: each one is a posture chosen before the first conversation of the day. What would it mean to put on each of these this morning before you go out into the world?
Prayer for Today
Please forgive me for my impatience, especially when ________. God, I ask that You will enable me to have patience with the everyday innocent and not-so-innocent failings of my children. It is my job to teach them how to be Your little disciples. Please enable me to reprimand my children and restore them with gentleness and mercy as You do. Thank you, that with Your help, I can be patient as You are. Not a day goes by that I don't need Your Holy Spirit poured out in me so I can be Christlike in my patience, especially with those who live in our home, or ________. (List any other items that challenge your patience personally). Amen

Amen.
