Scripture Reading

Matthew 5:10-12

"Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you."
Reflection
All Saints Day celebrates every man, woman, and child who has crossed from this life into the presence of God — the famous and the forgotten, the martyrs and the quiet faithful. The Beatitudes that open the Sermon on the Mount describe the saints perfectly: those who hungered and mourned and were persecuted, yet found in those very experiences the doorway to blessing. Today we remember our inheritance and those who passed it to us.
Prayer for Today
Dear Father,
You have given the saints in heaven eternal happiness and they now live in the fullness of your glory. Because of their holy love for you, they also care about me and my family, my friends, my church, and my neighbors. Thank you for the gift of their friendship and the witness of their holy lives. I ask our patron saints and every saint who has become especially dear to me to intercede for us. I.Amen.

Amen.
