Scripture Reading
Jeremiah 6:16
This is what the Lord says: "Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls."
Reflection
In a moment of national crisis, the prophet does not call for innovation but for retrieval — standing at the crossroads and asking for the ancient paths. There is wisdom in the accumulated witness of those who walked faithfully before us. When the culture moves fast and the ground seems uncertain, the call is to pause, look back at the well-worn road of faithfulness, and walk it. Rest is found not in novelty but in the tried way.
Prayer for Today
Think, O' God, of our friend who is ill, whom we now commend to Your compassionate regard.
Comfort him/her upon his/her sickbed, and ease his/her suffering. We beg for deliverance, and submit
that no healing is too hard if it be Your will.
We therefore pray that You bless our friend with Your loving care, renew his/her strength,
and heal what ails him/her in Your loving name.
