Strength in Quietness

Scripture Reading

Isaiah 30:15

This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: "In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it."
Reflection
Israel kept seeking salvation in military alliances and strategic maneuvering — anywhere but in the quiet return to God. The divine word is almost wry: strength is in quietness and trust, but you refuse it. How often do we exhaust ourselves with schemes and contingency plans when the deeper resource — still, attentive trust — is available to us? Today, resist the compulsion to manage everything, and practice the strength that comes from stillness.
Prayer for Today
Jesus, King of Kings, You say that the righteous man will live by faith. Mold me in Your image and fill my heart with faith in You. Guide my actions so that I can live by faith and have a life in You, abundantly and eternally. Cleanse my thoughts of impurities, dear God. Keep my eyes fixed on You and You alone. Help me be steadfast in my trust in You and Your Scriptures so that I can live right in Your holy sight. Amen.

Amen.
