Scripture Reading
Ephesians 4:4-6
There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
Reflection
Seven "ones" — seven pillars of what cannot be divided. No matter how splintered the church appears on any given Sunday, these sevenfold unities hold. We were baptized into the same water, called by the same Lord, indwelt by the same Spirit. The visible disunity of the church is the wound; these seven words are the healing that is already, in some deeper sense, accomplished.
Prayer for Today
Heavenly Father, Your scripture tells me that foolishness or lack of good sense or insight is bound up in the heart of a child. As a children's ministry leader, help me to correctly discipline them because the rod discipline drives it far from them. Lord please equip me with tools like discipline, correction and guidance so that they can be used to develop every child in my care. I pray that their spiritual, emotional and physical growth is never stagnant, this I pray, Amen.
Amen.
