Run with Perseverance

Scripture Reading

Hebrews 12:1-2

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.
Reflection
The saints who have gone before us are not absent spectators — they are a cloud of witnesses cheering us on. The race is not a sprint for the gifted but a long run for those who will not give up. Two instructions: throw off what hinders, fix your eyes on Jesus. Strip down and look up. Perseverance is not heroism; it is simply the refusal to stop looking at the one who already finished the race for us.
Prayer for Today
Loving God, I pray that you will comfort me in my suffering, lend skill to the hands of my healers, and bless the means used for my cure. Give me such confidence in the power of your grace, that even when I am afraid, I may put my whole trust in you; through our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Amen.
