Scripture Reading
Matthew 18:3
"Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven."
Reflection
As school years begin again, Jesus points us toward a quality of children we often try to grow out of: the capacity for wonder, openness, and dependence. Children do not pretend to have things figured out. They ask questions and receive help freely. The kingdom of God belongs to those who approach it the same way.
Prayer for Today
Beautiful One, I adore You because You will be my child's rock, fortress and deliverer. I know this because You have been my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge. You are my child's shield and the horn of his/her salvation, my stronghold. Thank You for protecting my child and I, You are our source of peace and refuge in a world that shows us evil. We will not fear, for You are with us and You go before us. Amen.
Amen.
