Psalm 86:11
Teach me your way, O LORD, that I may walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name.
Reflection
The psalmist asks for a united heart — one that is not pulled in competing directions but gathered and focused on God. This is honest prayer: acknowledging that we are prone to distraction, to divided loyalties, to serving two masters at once. The remedy is not willpower but surrender, asking God himself to do the uniting.
Prayer for Today
Lord, I pray that you would give us the strength to walk in integrity. And God, when we fail, I pray that you will bring our sin to light, and bring us to repentance so that we can receive the forgiveness you so freely offer.
