Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
Reflection
Generosity is not measured by the size of the gift but by the condition of the heart giving it. God is not moved by reluctant compliance; he is drawn to the cheerful giver — the one who gives from overflow, from love, from genuine delight in the act. Ask God today to form that kind of heart in you, in whatever form generosity takes.

God of creation, who loves all he has made and all that has evolved,
open the eyes of your people,
that your love might be reflected in our care for the planet.
Through Jesus Christ, who walked this earth and calls us by name.
