Psalm 36:5
Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.
Reflection
The psalmist reaches for cosmic imagery to describe what is ultimately beyond description: a love as high as the heavens and a faithfulness that stretches to the skies. We live in a world of broken promises and shifting loyalties, which makes God's faithfulness all the more startling. He has never once broken His word. Rest today in the certainty that He who began a good work in you will complete it.
Prayer for Today
Lord Jesus Christ, Saviour of the world,
we pray for your servant N.,
and commend him/her to your mercy.
For his/her sake you came down from heaven;
receive him/her now into the joy of your kingdom.
For though he/she has sinned,
he/she has not denied the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit,
but has believed in God
and has worshipped his/her Creator.
Amen.
